Game Tribe Pty Ltd (ABN [YOUR ABN]), Victoria, Australia ("Game Tribe", "we", "our" or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. What We Collect

We only collect what we need:

  • When you join our mailing list: your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it.

  • When you buy from us: your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number (if provided) and order details. Payments are processed by our payment providers, so we never see or store your full card details.

  • When you comment on the Site: your name or display name, your email and the content of your comment.

  • When you contact us: your name, email and anything you include in your message.

  • When you register for an event: your name, contact details and any information the registration form asks for.

  • When you browse the Site: technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you visit and how you arrived. This is collected through cookies and analytics tools.

2. How We Use It

We use your information to:

  • process and deliver your orders and handle any returns;

  • send you our newsletter, news and offers, but only if you have subscribed;

  • deliver digital content you signed up for, such as story chapters;

  • display and moderate comments;

  • run events and tournaments;

  • reply to your questions;

  • understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it; and

  • meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records.

3. Email Marketing

We only send marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them. Every email identifies Game Tribe as the sender and includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time, and we will stop sending marketing emails promptly.

4. Cookies and Analytics

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep it working, remember your preferences and measure traffic. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies through the cookie banner, and you can also block cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Site may not work properly without essential cookies.

5. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as much as they need to do their job. These include:

  • Wix: hosts the Site, its forms, comments and analytics.

  • Shopify: runs our online store.

  • Gamefound: runs our crowdfunding campaigns.

  • Payment processors: handle all payments.

  • Couriers, warehouses and fulfilment partners: deliver your orders.

  • Our email service provider: sends the newsletter.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

6. Storage Outside Australia

Some of our service providers store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. We choose reputable providers that use recognised security measures.

7. How We Protect It

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. These include secure, encrypted platforms and limiting access to people who need it. No online system is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

8. How Long We Keep It

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law. For example, we must keep order records for tax purposes. When you unsubscribe, we remove you from our mailing list, though we may keep a record that you opted out so we don't email you again.

9. Your Rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you;

  • correct information that is wrong or out of date; or

  • delete your information, where we are not legally required to keep it.

If you live in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you also have rights under the GDPR. These include the right to data portability, to object to certain processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Children

The Site and our games are intended for players aged 14 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without a parent's or guardian's consent. If you believe a child has given us information without consent, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Links to Other Sites

The Site links to external services such as Gamefound, Shopify, Steam, Discord and social media. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their policies.

12. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, email us first and we will do our best to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
